# Lease

The grant a holder takes on a job: the write and read paths that job declared,
enforced in the checkout that took it with `magus job exec`. A job is the piece
of work; a lease is permission over it.

## Elsewhere

In distributed systems a lease is a time-bound lock a holder renews (an etcd lease, a
Kubernetes Lease object). A magus lease grants write and read paths over one job, and its
bound is the job's timeout, not a renewal.

## Example

```sh
magus job exec my-job
```
